From the Lockport, New York Union-Sun and Journal (Wednesday Evening, August 1, 1917):
Found at Fulton History. In the next-to-last sentence, "1829" is obviously a typo for 1892 when the United States Book Company republished four of Melville's "romances of the sea," namely Typee, Omoo, White-Jacket, and Moby-Dick. Below, a later issue of the 1892 Typee with editor Arthur Stedman's important biographical introduction. Cheers to all on Herman Melville's 196th Birthday!
