The author has published two narratives of voyages in the Pacific, which he says were received in many quarters with incredulity; he now writes a romance of Polynesian adventure, and publishes it as such, to see whether the fiction might not possibly be received for a verity. It matters little whether this work is received as fiction or reality, should it be read with as much interest as the writer's former productions have been.
